Chevy conversion and no 4wd!

I know this topic has been covered somewhere! I am helping my buddy put a Chevy 350 and(hopefully) a Turbo 350 automatic in his '76 CJ-7. He purchased the adapters needed for his Dana 20. The big problem is the front driveshaft does not seem like it will clear the transmission? And his skid plate will not boltup. I have seen quite a few CJ's over the years with no front driveshaft. What good is a Chevy conversion if you can't have 4wd? I'm glad I kept mine all AMC![addsig]

that would be useless... by the way... many many conversions will require skidplate modifications[addsig]

Yes they do and usually you have to get a new skid plate
if you don't have cutting tools Like plasma cutter or oxygen/setaline :-O [addsig]

even when i replaced my ax15 with another ax15, i still had to modify my skidplate[addsig]

my ax15 was from a 90 cherokee, and was going on my 93 YJ... i had to get a custom pilot made, and the bolt pattern for mounting the Tcase was slightly turned, which put the front output of my Tcase 2" lower than the rear output, so my Tcase sits diaginal now... I had to cut out of my skidplate to allow it to fall through rather than sit on it[addsig]
