Good Question. (In fact it is two questions!) Poster has asked --- How do we KNOW we have : Fuel Pressure and Spark? You will REQUIRE a HELPER and some simple HAND Tools. Have your HELPER sit in the Jeep. Remove the Gas Cap. LISTEN for the Fuel Pump to come ON -- while your HELPER cycles KEY On and Off-- Have Helper Turn Key ON for about 2 or 3 Seconds --- Turn OFF for about. 5 or 6 Seconds. Repeat two or three times! DID YOU HEAR Fuel Pump come ON?? Next, Open Hood. Check Fuel Pump Fuse in PDC --- Near Battery. Is FUSE Good? Next is the ACID TEST. (Bottom Line) Do have Pressure on the FUEL RAIL?? Have HELPER sit in Jeep -- have him do exactly the same thing. (Cycle Key ON and Off) You will be under the Hood. Locate the Fuel Rail. Locate the Scrader Valve ON the Fuel Rail-- Remove Cap on Scrader Valve--with a Small Small Screwdriver -- Depress Valve (momentarily) WHILE Helper Cycles Key-- Do YOU HAVE FUEL PRESSURE on the RAIL? Yes or No? Next: Do you have Spark?? Remove ONE Spark Plug Wire. Use a Phillips Head Screwdriver--- Put Screwdriver IN the Spark Plug Wire--- Lay Screwdriver on Engine APPROX. A quarter to 3\8 Inch from a Good GROUND on Engine -- Have Helper CRANK the Motor Over -- DO YOU SEE ANY SPARK? Yes or No? Next -- Do you get ANY Codes? (CKP, CPS, TPS) Whew--that is enough. Good Luck. Keep us Posted. --- JB
