Cheap Hubs?

The front end is getting noisy, and growls on the curves at highway speeds. It sounds like the bearings have seen their better days.

The best deal I can find on Timken hubs is at JC Whitney... $135 for a pair. There's a seller on ebay (detroitaxle) with another brand for $72 a pair.

Is it worth the extra money for Timken or should I go with the cheaper ones? Any other deals/brands out there that would be a good replacement at a better price?

Welcome to the Z. I'd go with the Timken, and that's a screaming deal.

In case anybody is interested...

Raybestos is made in China and has a 3-year warranty. Rock Auto shows two warranty returns in the last month and several returns from buyers that "did not want the item." I'm sure some of those returns had to do with where they were made.

Timken is made in California and has a 1-year warranty. Rock Auto shows only two warranty returns in the last year.

The longer warranty might have something to do with the higher number of Raybestos returns. But you can get Chinese-made parts without the Raybestos name for a lot less.
