I'm thinking about buying a center console for my CJ7 and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is going to fit in there nice. I know they say it will, but I've never seen one in a CJ and I just like them. The one I want in the "clutter catcher" in the quadrratec magazine. :-? [addsig]

i purchased a used jeep that had a center console and it looked real nice but, when i tried to put it in my jeep it wouldnt fit because of the seat belts. see if you can call and get some measurements before you get it and find out it doesnt fit. most places wont pay you back for shipping charges.[addsig]

I bought a Bestop center console, it's the one with the squared off arm rest top. I woudn't get the one with the rounded top, it's steelhorse and they don't last.[addsig]

i've seen people using 50cal ammo boxes that work out pretty well...[addsig]

I had the Bestop one and it fell apart the first time it got rained on... So far, my 50cal ammo box is holding up nicely... Only problem with it, though, is NO CUPHOLDERS!!![addsig]

When I bought my YJ there was one in there that just didn't cut it and I couldn't see paying over 200 bucks for the one I wanted... Solution, make my own... I just finished mine and all I have to do is bolt it to the floor now... it's got a lock and everything... Click here to see the pics... the old one is for sale if you want it![addsig]

when I do my body work, I am stripping the jeep down to is bare dignity... I am going to replace many many rusted panels... and when I do... the cutter, welder, a sheet of metal and myself will be all working together to make a center console built into the modified floor to be covered with rhino-liner to match the rest of my soon-to-be interior.... that is of course when I get money[addsig]

Thanks Tug, it took a while since i only worked on it during my lunch breaks, I just have to bolt it to the floor to make it a true secruity console...[addsig]
