The saga lives on... I replaced the Throttle Position Sensor. It greatly reduced the problem but mostly it is still very much the same. The new TPS has a seal to keep moisture out of the guts of the sensor. The old one did not have one and did have moisture inside. (Price $70 - out the door at dealership, about the same at Kragan - if they had had one). It takes a short Bristol tip and socket to remove it. I reseated most of the sensor connectors and still have the problem. I looked into the distributor and found that the cap was very, very carboned up. I then looked under the dust shield, into the pickup sensor area, and saw globular deposits on the bottom. I checked the shaft and noticed it wobbled quite a bit. Replacing the distributor and roter didn't help anything at all. It looks like the distributor shaft bushing and seal are bad. The factory manuals have arrived but I haven't had a chance to read up. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. It is useable now. thx
