Bikini Top Question

When I bought my jeep ('88 wrangler) it came with a bikini top. I have never used it before, but thought I might want to try it out. The tag on it says "California Brief" which I guess is the company?

Well, anyways, I can't figure out how to hook the front of it. It doesn't seem to have stiffer part that hooks in the groove (at least not the same as my full soft top)

This is probably a dumb question, but I really can't figure it out. Anyone know what I'm talking about??

My bikini top doesn't have that either, but it does have a plastic piece sewn in along the edge. What I do is fold it so it sticks in the groove on top of the windshield then double it back and tie it down. I hope that made sence!

The plastic piece doesn't actually stick out. It is sewn so that is sort of tucked inbetween the material, and sticks out about 1mm.

Joopin, do you just stick the whole edge (about 1/2 inch of material, or so) into that groove? It did seem to fit in there, but I didn't think that that really seemed right.

This is the idea, lay the bikini top on the hood upsidedown with the back of the top towards the front of the jeep. Stick the plastic piece into the channel, fold the top 180 degrees so it is laying on top of the roll bars and tie the top down. I think that made a little more sence... Visualize!

The California Brief is a steel horse top. Nice directions guys that a hard one to discribe

I figured that was how it would go, but I wasn't sure why it would be different from my soft top. Thank you so much, that did make sence now!!

Well, when I first tried my bikini top, I was totally lost. I had not idea how to do it, and with the 100 degree heat in south Texas, it wasn't fun. Well, after a nice cold beer, I finally figured it out. These guys go the right idea. -al
