Bestop Trail Cover

Has anyone used one of these or a similar model? When I have the top down, I like to park in the garage at night to protect it from the dew, birds, rain etc. We are going to move soon so the garage has now become a box storage area so I need another solution. For those that have used something similar, how quick can you put it on or remove it? Is it pretty easy?

They are kind of pricey for just a temporary thing, but if you were planning on using it alot then they are great. I used to have one for my CJ. The only thing that I didn't like was that it had some fuzzy lining inside that would catch leaves and such when you were trying to fold it. Mine was a Steel Horse brand though. The Bestops might be different.

I had used one on my Jeep for quite some time. Kept it with me in a duffel bag at all times, never had my top on...

Thanks guys, I went ahead and ordered it. I will probably use it a good bit this summer since I am without a garage until at least the end of July when we move and then who knows how long at the new house. We may be using it for staging boxes as we unpack.

Let us know how you like it. I have wanted one for a long while.

I had a cheaper one for a while but it was made of thinner material and when it rained it would sag and and let water through right onto the seats. If I remember correctly the besttop one is made from the same material as their soft tops though so the leaking shouldn't be a problem. Mine took maybe 2-3 minutes to put on by myself. Keep us updated on how you like it. I have expensive stereo equipment so I can't pull my hardtop off yet with this Tennessee weather.

Mine would sag when water accumulated, but didn't leak. I placed a piece of scrap plywood on top of the cage to keep it from sagging. No big deal.

For the record, I love this Bestop Trail Cover. I can put it on or remove it in less than 5 minutes although I don't think I'll be able to put it back in that little bag it comes in. I'm not able to park in the garage for a few months so at night when I get home I put this top on and then off again in the morning. It is pretty obvious by looking at what has fallen on it overnight what I'm saving my Jeep seats from. It hasn't been rained on yet so we'll see if it collects any water. Thanks for all the input.

It rained last night. A lot. It didn't leak but it did pool a good bit over the front seats. I got soaked trying to get the water out. I guess I should have crawled in and pushed up but instead I just reached in and pushed up with my arms and got soaked. Hey, it was late and I'd had a couple of bourbons. So, like Redrooster said, I need to put something up there to prevent that when there is a threat of rain.
