Backup Lights On

My backup lights stay on all the time (have 90 jeep). Is this typical of a backup switch failure, or should I be looking for something else? And, by the way, if I have to replace the backup switch (on transmission), can I expect transmission fluid to run out (just asking - don't know).

My first guess would be the switch. No you shouldn't lose any fluid when you take it out.
