backspacing too little?

I just ordered 31x10.50 BFG All-terrains on 15x8 wheels with 3.75 backspacing. Currently my jeep is stock (98 TJ SE) but I'm about to add a 2" skyjacker suspension lift.

Am I going to have problems with rubbing? My off-roading is going to consist of a little snow and sand here or there..nothing major.

I believe I can still call them and have them mount on a slightly larger backspaced wheel (I believe it was either 4.00 or 4.25) but it'd probably have to be by tomorrow.. I appreciate any help.

Thanks

You shouldn't have any problems, not with that narrow of a tire. I am running 14.5" Jones' and my backspacing is 3.25, no problems here. I would say your in the clear! Where in jersey are ya?

Okay, so I'm stupid...

good, thanks, glad to hear it...I was reading some other posts about the flare getting ripped off by the tires under full compression and started getting nervous

grew up in the toms river area (lived there for 24 years) before work forced me to move to central jersey, just over the driscoll bridge.

I didn't say anything about the tires not hitting the flares under compression... They may hit, they may not. I know mine hit... thats why I'm taking mine off or buying flares.

My brother works in Toms river at OCC... we live right near Asbury park in Ocean Grove... small world!

The Rubicon's come with 31x 10.50's. I say it will work without hitting the flares.

i ran the 2 inch budget boost with 32" tires and got minor rubbing but i didn't use the extended bumpstops. if you use the supplied bumpstops you should have no problems.

I am currently running 31x10.50 on Wheels with a 3.75 Backspacing with a 2" lift. I have had No issues. I don't have extended bumpstops so they stuff pretty well at full flex and I haven't heard any rubbing or seen anything pressed out of place, even on a ramp.

Here is a Pic.
