i just lost 5th gear and i need to rebuild my transmission so i figured just replace it with a used one rebuild mine and then sell the used one again. at least that is the idea. so what do you think?

It just sold on Ebay, sorry. The link was the first three words in my post.

Losing the clip holding 5th gear on the shaft is very common. it's an easy fix but it'll break again unless the synchros are replaced.
