I'm looking for advice from someone that runs or ran, 14.5" tires... I just got my first Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip yesterday from desert rat, I ended up going with the 36"x14.5". Anyway The backspacing seems pleanty, but I just wanted to make sure that people runnin this width didn't hit the frame when turning. If it does happen I could always use some wheel spacers. The guy at desert rat told me that the backspacing he gave me was going to work, since I didn't know what would, I took his word for it.

did you sawp axles, if you did and outboarded your springs they might....i think...

I am swapping a D44 in the rear, not touching the front... so the springs will be in the same place. I did regear to 4.56 ratio... hopefully it will bring back the stock mpg and performance, Randys ring and pinion suggested that ratio for what I wanted. Oh and I called the place I got the tires from and they said that 3.5 backspacing will clear the tires, but if they rub when turning then he said there is a way to adjust the stearing radius... some adjustment behind the knucle.

yeah, simple steering stop adjustment... but if you go with too large of tires, and improper backspacing.. you'll be adjusting them until you can no longer turn

Well when you think about it a 14.5 incher is only ONE inch narrower than a 12.5 because you split the difference, one inch for the front of the tire and one for the backside of the tire. And from what I've seen most everyone has 12.5 with no problems. Plus the 3.5 backspacing is more than most wheels. I think I'm in the clear... but we will see!
