air induction units

Hi out there, I am a newbie Jeep owner, have a 98 Grand cherokee Ltd,4L Petrol, someone told me fitting an air induction unit will increase power and save on fuel, any expert jeep owners who have fitted one, is this true or just hype, appreciate any advice. live in Ireland petrol is so so expensive here

You MIGHT gain 2 to 3 horse power but it wouldn't be noticeable, and same with gas mileage. Unless you have a full intake, exhaust, chip, and ignition you wouldn't notice any difference driving with just one of them.

I've got an AFE cold air intake on my Wrangler, and while I can't feel any more power, but it sounds more powerful when I get on the throttle.
