Age old tire question

I'm doing an soa on a budget to a 92 YJ and using the stock springs, any suggestions on what tires to run(Cheap yet decent tire), but more specifically what size 33 or 35? I'm looking to not have to much rub at full flex. I've heard that TRXUS MT's are a reasonable for the price?

I'm running 34x12.5 TRXUS MT's on my CJ and they are a good tire. I always ran BFG MT's but have found Interco's tire to run better off-road AND on. Also found Interco's tire measurement to be honest.

35 inch dunlop mud rovers, they actually measure to like 34.2? good tires, horrible size advertising tho. theyve held up great for me and ive beat them to hell and back

Not many tires can claim that

I never realized how large the difference can be. We've had several Jeeps through our shop in the past year and have seen tires claiming to be 35's that were actually shorter than mine.

You wont find a better "off road tire" then any SS. (except those crappy thornbirds) personally i like irok-tsl-bogger in that order. It's true about the size. They are one of the few that measure accuratly. So if your going soa w/ stock springs, stick w/ real 33s or some other 35 will probably fit.

stay away from the ssr tsls though, they have notoriously crappy sidewalls. they are kind of like intercos show tire, so to speak

Thanks guys. I'm leaning twords a set of either 33x12.50 TRXUS Mt's or 34x10.50 TLB. Can't decide if I want pizza cutters or not?

Usually the advertised tire sizes are measured at the recommended wheel width and air pressure. If you look at Interco's website they tell you the recommended wheel and air pressure. Wider wheels will shorten the tire.
I agree that most tires are not as tall as advertised.
