Advice for the rookie

I am currently serving in Iraq:bomb: and I'm trying to think of a way to spend all of the money I have saved since being here...so why not throw some of it towards my '05 X. I am looking for a nice 3" to 4" to fit a good set of 32s or 33s underneth, nothing to monsterous. Here is where I could use some tips. I am looking for a lift kit that will allow enough flex to do some beginner to moderate trails, but I still want it to be road worthy. I have done some minor suspension work and maintenance to my my previous Jeep "Frankenstein" ( a flood salvaged '88 Wrangler), but never an entire suspension upgrade. What should I look for?

I did months of research, before I chose the 3.5" BDS lift. Keep in mind that my jeep is a 1993 YJ.

I like the lift kit. Two stage shocks make the bumps easy to handle. It was easy to install. As you can see, I get a fair amount of flex from the lift.

Thanks for serving. People like yourself are the meaning of freedom to me!

The BDS mentioned above is a good kit. I'd look into Rubicon Express. RE has a few to choose from with a wide price range. Very good suspensions.

Thank you for serving this great country!

I'm in the midst of the same decision process, and so far I think the gang here has talked me into the Black Diamond lift for my '94.

I'll echo the others: Thanks for serving our country!!! Please be safe and come home soon!!!!!

From what I hear, the Rubicon Express or Full Traction lifts are the way to go on coil suspensions.
