a true quandry

I just realized today that I have 5 vacation days to use up before July 2nd or I'll loose them.

I have a surplus already and in July I get another weeks worth and they want you to use it, so they claim you will forfeit any surplus days over two weeks worth.
Problem is, I really wasn't planning on going anywhere and I really like to save my $$$ for my big Colorado trip every fall, so I don't want to go anywhere and spend money that would take from that trip.

I don't really like just sitting around the house either, because I tend to start projects that cost money.

I'm thinking of just taking every Friday and an additional day or two and give myself a long weekend for the whole month.

what to do???:???: :???:

i like that idea of taking a long weekend. i would just take M-F off starting on saturday, but im lazy.

if i was you i would take days here and there, it seems to make a week go by quicker when u have a random day off in the middle.

Tell'em to screw themselves and quit! Just go out and live off the fat of the land!

I had the same problem last year so I took the long weekends. Seems like the wife always had something for me to do though :x . But sparky's idea isn't bad either!

If this is a "quandry" or a "problem" then it's a good one to have.
Heck, man fishing is cheap. Relax a little.

I had the same thing going on, had to use them up by end of May. So I took off a bunch of fridays and a monday or 2, and I think I worked about 16 days in the month of may...

Years ago, right out of high school, I worked for a grocery warehouse in Hutch that was a union shop. The maximum amount of annual accrued vacation at the time was 13 weeks, and the maximum amount you could save was 26 weeks. There were only a few guys that had been there long enough to hit those numbers, and they would take 4 months a year off. One guy would take all 4 in a row, a couple others would work 2 months, take off one, work 2 take of one, etc. One lady I worked with as a shipping clerk had the full 26 saved when she retired, so she took off the last six months of the year, bought a house in the Bahamas and left town. When her 6 months of vacation ran out, she should have been retired, but somewhere back in the previous 40 years with the company, they had screwed up on her time, and to qualify for her pension she ended up having to come back and work another 2 months! Needless to say, she was a tad ****ed at the union for that one!
