A lucky find

I was looking through one of our local salvage yards today and found a Mopar gas tank skid plate in great condition that fits my 2000 XJ. I got it for $25. 8)

nice, have you installed it yet?

A couple of the XJ guys that I wheel with have had good luck with using angle iron on all the corners and plating the bottom and side.

No, I haven't installed it yet. I am hunting down other skid plate stuff and I want to do it all at the same time. So far I have the tank skid and a set of rock sliders off Craigslist. I'm going to Denver next week (I'm in Billings, MT) and will look for something to protect the oil pan and trans.
