Is there a kit other than the $1000 under dash kit for a yj with no a/c? I need some A/C for the summer, but would love to not spend that much...

You can't go top less if it rains. and its still hot. it my everyday driver. Thanks for the input!

Not sure where your from, I am in Orlando Fl and it gets a tad bit warm in the summer. When it gets real warm I drive faster or take the doors off. I don't believe you will find an under dash unit much cheaper, remember you will get what you pay for. Good Luck.

I found a used under dash ac kit for $400, should i risk it? or just not be cheap and just pay the $1000?

Jeep air conditioning components and complete A/C kits for all Jeeps is the only setup I'm aware of and it costs $1000 too.

I have been searching also. I have a friend with a CJ who offered to give me everything but the Compressor (york style) for free. I turned it down knowing all too well it will require mods ,Parts that may be hard to find,not to mention the headach of trying to get it to work!
The Jeepair unit in my previous jeep worked great so I am just going to take some weight off my wallet at this point.
