I have a 98 4.0L Auto. I have had to replace the manifold recently with a wildcat system, due to the high replacement cost for the origional manifold from the agents.
The new manifold is obviously less bulky due to the mild steel, and not as heavy as the standard cast iron unit.
During cold starts I get a sound of rushing air from the manifold area which goes away once the motor builds up heat(quicker in stop start driving). I have taken the vehicle back to the wildcat agency for 2 days now and there are no leaks on the system, and it builds up pressure correctly. They have also used a new manifold gasket on installation.
The sound to me is very much like sticky valves to try and describe it accurately and on certain days doesnot show up even on a cold start( I would say out of 10 days 2 days are OK)
Any suggestions would be appreciated?
