98 wrangler code 505 ?

My 98 is throwing this code IAC (AIS) Motor circuit shorted

the scanner has a test for AIS ,& I can scoll idle speed up & down..

Kind of confused ,,If the circuit was shorted ,,would the test still work?...

It would still work, it may not be a constant problem just because it threw the code once and stored it.
