96 Chrokee needs tilt seat

money pit

New member
Hi, I have a 1996 Cherokee SE TWO door.drivers side seat was worn out so a friend of mine gave me two front seats (that match ) out of a '97 or '98....only ONE problem (and I didn't think it would be an issue ) neither seat flips forward to allow access to the back. Even if only ONE flipped it would be great ! I still have the passenger seat, does anyone here know if I can use the "new" seat cushions on the old frame that flips forward ? and how involved is it ?
Thanks,
Frank

Did you get this figured out Frank?

You could just use the new driver seat, and get some seat covers for both so that it doesn't look odd.

I replaced mine with ones from a Nissan Sentra, they flip forward and are set 1" further back than stock to give some leg room.

Got any photos of this? I'd be interested to see what they look like in a Jeep.

Fairly comfy, and dont look bad. Not sure what year Sentra, got them from craisglist for $20, and just adapted the brackets from the XJ.
