Help Please!
1995 Wrangler 4.0
Error Code(s) 12 and 41. I found 41 but not 12.
The jeep starts and will run and charge correctly for about 3 miles. The check engine light comes on and it stops charging. Yesterday morning it did this and the voltage gage buried itself in discharge and the engine eventually sputtered and died. I took the alternator to Autozone and the test came back good.
The error code indicated "field" on the alternator. What controls the field and what would make it malfunction!
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
