89 yj starting troubles

Ok. I have an 89' Yj with a stock motor(258). It has at in my driveway for the winter and i have just now tried to start it. It turns over fin and everything but doesn't want to start. I sprayed some starting fluid into and tried starting, it will sputter for about 3 seconds and still no go. The battery is charging right now so i figured you guys (and girls) might be able to help me out. Thanks alot- Bobby

Did u put any preservative in the fuel tank before u stored it? If not the gas could have lost most of its "punch" and is not igniting. It could also be the fuel pump/filter. Are u getting spark? Fuel? The fact that it starts sputtering when u spray in the starting fluid points to a fuel problem.
