my 87 wagoneer has been having a high idle issue again whenever i start it in the morning (6am). once i drive it and get to work (5.5 mi away) i turn the rig off and turn it on again and it idles like normal. i have a suspicion that my throttle body is getting yucky, but i do not know how to pull it off and clean it. also due to the fact that i am not allowed to work on my jeep at my new house. so i need to pull it off fast lol. does that sound like the problem and if it is how would i pull it off in a quick manner, or what else do u think would cause that problem?

87 waggy is carburated correct?, check the choke linkage and throttle linkage as well for binding. If it's all gunked up, spray some carb. cleaner on the point where they pivot and then spray it with a silicone lubricant. Start the engine and see if the idle drops down after reaching a normal operating temperature.

na its the 4 liter FI. it didnt do it this morning. but maybe it wasnt cold enough outside. i dont remember too well cuz i am not a morning person and i turned it on about 6 am

A stuck IAC in the open position will give you a high idle but i would check it for a vacuum leak first on all the vacuum lines and the intake gasket. A sticking throttle lever linkage may also contribute to this issue.
