Hello everyone, does anyone have any personal run-in's with a 134 f-head? I am running 33's, not sure what the gearing is ... What is max speed? I am wondering if I should rebuild the motor and stay orinal ( I got some money in it allready )

Just off the top of the head here, I would say you're running, (if stock) Dana 44 10 spline rear and dana 27 10 spline front with 5:38.1 gearing. If you look on you diffs, there should be a little tag on one of the bolts at about 7 o clock. That will let you know what gears

These old Willys Jeeps are not built for speed. They have 72 horse power and are very "darty " at 45 plus. I know too it will bog on grades with the 33's. If you can control her at 70 mph it wil be on flatland. Mine's never gonna see those highway speeds as long as I own her.:shades:

Yeah, I had it going 53 mph before I pulled the engine ( it was losing a lot of compression ) I dont wanna go to much faster I just dont want to get ran over
Will the rebuild and compression gain help in the top end

Here are a few current pics
Doing all the diamond plate myself, it will be powder coated black once its all cut in
I got rid of the underseat tank, rear floor, and I am trying my hand at a little bondo.

That's really looking GOOD, Chad. Great Job. Hey that looks like the stock belhousing too and transmission shaft. Nice job. My little 3b had some problems. I replace some of the body parts. I'll be buying more goodies for mine soon too. Nice Jeep

WOW, 53 mph with a F head.. best I ever got was about 48mph.

One thing I have always wanted to do, and might one day, swap out a 134 for a EFI 2.5 from a 89-91 YJ.

Good project, keep it up

I Know Huhhh:D can't wait to see your progress on the heep so we can compare our works of art :shades:maybe at the festival of colors next fall

yes chad its coming along nicely 134 has 70hp not many pony's but it has the torque when its needed just not a race car

now my 3B has 4.3 with 180 to 200 hp quit a bit more pony's but wont see high speeds either 50 tops these old heeps were not built for high speeds
I just wanted the extra pony's for the rocks
and yes I can not lie the purrrrrr of the duelies :D
