4wd clicking/grinding

I looked around a little and didn't see anything that was the same as whats going on in the front end of my jeep. It drives fine in 2wd other then it wanders a little due to a bad tie rod. When i shift into 4 part or full time there is a grinding/clicking noise coming from what sounds like the front left. It might be from somewhere else but I'm not sure. It does it when accelerating over 35mph, coasting, turning and braking. What could be causing the sound? Would it be u-joints, cv axles, or something in the front diff?

You've got a decent model transfer case that isn't prone to problems so I'd suspect a bad CV joint in a front axleshaft.

i think ill start there. i know a few mechanics so i think i might have them look at it. gotta take it back to get re-inspected in the next week anyways. thanks for the help

i was talking to a mechanic and he said just from describing it, it sounds like the spider gears. I looking at the drivetrain section to see if there was anything about the axles on the grand cherokee's, but its geared towards wranglers. Would it be safe to assume that i have the 27 spline dana 30 in front, and dana 35 in the rear?
