4.0 swap into 81 cj7 , the whole enchilada

I plan to do the above swap. Will a tremec bellhousing and T-176 be good for the above jeep with 3.73 gears?????? I dont off road much, its a beach cruiser. thanks chucker :-D [addsig]

You should look for a 5 speed then. The T-176 is a very small (only 40lbs empty) 4 sp transmission. A T-5 is the 5sp that came stock in them. I tossed my T-176 for a T-18 (granny box) cuz I wheel my CJ-5 hard in rocks. I was amazed at how tiny the T-176 actuall is/was. Shocked really.
