I have a 92 wrangler project with a 2.5 in it. I am going to do the thottle body swap, but was wondering if anybody has experimented with the 4.0 injectors in this motor. I don't Know if they fit or other stuff ill need(the 4.0 ecm) just fishing for now. Anybody has info I have open ears, thanks.

You can not use the 4.0L ECM. I run Ford injectors in my 2.5L from a mid '90s Ford Crown Victoria V8.

So I'm new to the forum have had the app for a Lil over a month have read just about every post in the past month and have been interest inthe ford 5.0 injector swap what did it do to your gas mileage

Yes I was told some injectors from a ford 5.0 motor would work I could be wrong not the first time and won't be the last

Yes, mid '90s 5.0L v8. I believe my injectors were yellow.

Hard to say on the mileage increase, but the engine sure did run smoother. I also run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and bumped up the fuel pressure to accompany all the other mods.

What pressure are you running? What other good mods do you know of? This is my first 2.5 build, looking for as much as I can. Thank you for any and all info.

no offence but u own a jeep if u wanted mpgs shoulda bought a escort.

getting a larger bore throttle body is a super mod to do. i did one on a cherokee i had and it was night and day difference. i did it on a bmw also and it was the same thing.

i like bmws and jeeps because you can usually use factory parts from another model as upgrades so you can get htem cheap in the junkyard or ebay

Don't care about mpg just curious and asking to ask knowledge is power

injectors only care whether you are feeding them with high or low impedence power. they don't care how much pressure you feed them or anything else because the ecu tells them when to open. the pressure just decides how much they flow each time the ecu tells them to open. when you run the part number for hte injector and it gives you a lbs/hr flow rate or whatever, you just have to adjust the numbers to fit how much pressure your pump uses and you will know if hte injectors will flow more or less then your current ones.

i ran 4.6 injectors from a town car or crown vic in my bmw. they were 19lbers versus the stock 14lbers. it seems our jeeps are high impedence, like the ford and most other companies use. some odd cars run the low impedence but they are few and far between.

just google the part number on the injector to get its flow rate and check the numbers to make sure you are going to flow enough at the psi of your pump and try to get injectors with more then one hole in the pintle and you'll be good
