Hi my 89 yj when it sits for a while ,and you go to start it the rods chatter,like theres no oil then stops when the pressure is restored.
I was told by a jeep mech that there was silicone used on the pump to block surface and that the silicone has broken down allowing this no oil condition for a few seconds,and to relaplace the pump,and put the paper gasket in and be back to normal,the eng has 106,000miles and runs strong...john...:shock:
