I have only had my Jeep for about 3 months but it is leaking water like a screen door on a submarine. The passenger side floor board & carpet are soaked. I am sure that the top is on correct but suspect that the water may be coming from the AC or door, but I can't figure out where. I am going back to the dealer this week and was wondering if anyone else has heard of or had a similar problem. Anyone/Anything?[addsig]

I don't know much about the 2002's, but I would suspect that you may be missing a plug in your floor board. Lift up the carpet and see if the plug is in. If you're missing one or it's loose, then there's your problem. I highly doubt it's from your top if it's that new. My top doesn't even sit flush with the window and I don't leak any water. My only other questions is: Are you driving through any hurricanes? That could be a problem too!

Thanks for the anwser but it's not the plugs; I checked them when I had all of the carpet pulled out to dry. It could have been the hurricane or maybe some lemon juice. I am going back to the dealership this week to find out for sure. Whatever it is, it's a real bummer.[addsig]

I know the 97's had a recall on them. Something about a seal at the cowl causing a leak on the pass. side.[addsig]

Problem solved! I went back to the dealership and found out there was a TSB issued regarding a problem with the AC drain in the firewall, which is located about knee level on the passenger side. The water drips back into the jeep from this drain and the problem is compounded when going down the road because the wind won't allow the water to drain. The dealer installed a 7 inch 90 degree rubber elbow pipe that points towards the ground. I will give it a few days and see if it works.[addsig]
