2000 Grand Cherokee

I just picked up a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo for my daughter my question is is there gas tank straps under the shield or does shield hold tank up ? Thanks

99 and later shield and tank are removed as one unit, remove nuts from the straps retaining fuel tank to shield and separate tank from shield. Not that I've done it before but this is from the book. Sorry didn't have illustration in book. Wasn't much help but hopefully a little help

Anyone know where I can find a Good gas tank cover ? Her's has rust hole !

I did a quick Google search there are many companies that sell them just start reading reviews they seem to start around $70 and go up from there.

Google "grand Cherokee gas tank skid plate" Summit Racing has them for $80

That one is a factory replacement then they have the better ones around 250 that are thicker steel skid plates

Not sure then when I was in there site I did a search for 2000 GC and that was the result
