how do you know if its a 20 gallon or not? i have a gastank but i dont know if its a 20 or 15

Hello, is the gas tank plastic or steel? Measure lxwxh and divide by 231.

I have a plastic tank on my Yj and from filling it up I fit 18 gallons in once, so what size tank do I have? Did they make 18gal or what do I have?

plastic? i know a 95 YJ has a 20 gallon tank with a 10 inch vent tube that extends down into the tank. So, again stock, when you fill up , the gas pump will click off after approximately 15 gallons. If you trim that vent tube down to about 3", you get about 5 extra gallons...

20 gallons. 2 of which are a "reserve". It apperars empty on the guage when there's 2 gallons left.
