Let me save a few more dollars, money seems hard to come by these days. How much are we looking at? O yeah what are the stock bore sizes top side and bottom, I forget?

hey man i just wanted to ask if u ever herd of someone putting in a 2.4L DOC engine from a neon or the like in a jeep. those motors have more hp more torque. Just a thing to make u go Hmmmmm:scratch:. i like the idea but i have no idea if the trans will bolt up. check it out i think u would like.I don't know all the dimensions but I believe the base of each throttle body may be this: 4.0L 55mm, 2.5L 51mm. The base is the narrowest point.
I'd probably do $50 on a 4.0L TB in like new condition, which includes shipping within the US.

thanks i would love to read it. ya know i might just do that one day bc those engines r easier to come by so they r cheaper. There is a write up somewhere where someone did a swap to a 2.4L DOHC but I believe it was a jeep engine. I think it was somewhere in off-road magazine of 4wheel offroad mag. It was pretty much a clean swap as far as engine swaps go. It is about a 30% more increase in horse power just stock alone. Then you also have to consider the horse power to wieght ratio, which is good. Light and powerful. I will look for the write up when I get a chance.

Yes, you swap all sensors INCLUDING the IAC housing. The IAC housing is often attached with 4 tamper-proof torx bits so be sure to pick up a set of those. In rare instances they're attached with standard torx.To Bounty Hunter when I swap from a 2.5L TB to a 4.0L TB I believe I need to put all the 2.5L sensors on to the 4.0L. Correct me if I am wrong. My main question is on the IAC do I need to swap that housing that it mounts to or just the Idle Air Control sensor only? And of course all other sensors. Thanks

No, there's a paper gasket that generally stays intact when swapping. Be careful in case it is brittle.
I've got a lot of gaskets, I could send you one. Or the local parts store may have them. You'll need to buy a set of tamper-proof torx sockets, or at least the socket of the appropriate size.
