Hello,

1988 4x4 6 cylinder Cherokee Laredo automatic . . .

I am replacing tie rod ends, bars etc., in the front of my Jeep. I have all the necessary parts. Jeep on jack stands etc . . . I have castle bolts removed I am using a pickle fork to remove ends . . . however, I have nothing removed yet, I have lubricated the areas and nothing shakes loose (still trying). Is there a system in removing first things first in this area ? I am trying to remove the stablizer shock bar first ???

Can you guide me on which end to remove first . . .

Peace, Jewel

The stabilizer bolt, tierod ends, and ball joints all have a taper fit into the holes. I find it easiest to strike the side of the hole at a 90* angle to the tapered bolt with a 3lb sledge. This temporarily egg-shapes the hole and the tapered bolt generally falls right out.

Thank you so much for your support . . . I finally got the darn thing out. Just had to hit it at the right angle.

Peace, Jewel
