My friend wants to sell me his jeep. It's got 128000 miles on it. He got it from his friend for free and spent $3000 on it to completely fix it. It's got a new transmission, new battery and couple of new cosmetic stuff like new tires, air conditioning etc.
This would be my first car. I'm a motorcycle addict and am moving to UT from CA. He wants me to have it for less than what he spent. He already has 2 brand new cars and wants to help me out.
Questions:
1. What should I be looking out while test driving the car
2. What kinda performance should I expect. top speeds...reliability etc
3. any advice ?
he says the mechanic went through everything he thought could be a problem. He honestly would have told me if there was any problem with it and I belive him.
so how much can I offer him for that jeep. It's got couple of rust spots. It's looks clean but I don't know what I'm looking for. Does anybody have websites about the 1985 Jeep V6 2.8 lt so that I can learn about the jeep.
oh! and how much would it cost to do a good paint job on the jeep.
