1975 CJ5 coolant leaking from back of engine?

I have a 1975 CJ5 Levi Renegade with a 304. I came out of my girls apartment on my way to my second job to find a puddle of coolant dripping from the bell housing cover on the front of my transmission. I dont think that there is any coolant that actually goes into the transmission which would mean that the coolant is leaking from the rear of the engine... There is no contamination in the engine oil. any ideas on where this is leaking from? I will be towing my jeep to my property to take a closer look, but any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Are you certain it is not dripping or running down from the back of one of the cylinder heads or gaskets around the intake manifoild? And your tie-ins for your heater core in that area as well.

I think there is freeze out (thats what we call em) plugs on the back of the engine, actually on the side of the engine.

I have a '74 cj-5 doing the same thing and I had a guy also mention freeze plugs and I had another guy say if the coolant is cloudy looking it could be a bad head gasket causing the oil to mix with the coolant. I haven't had a radiator shop look at it yet but that is the next step

Or it could be something easy like the heater hose line at the back part of the intake manifold, when mine leaked, it ran down the back of my 360. Here's hoping!

I took my Jeep to a radiator/motor place yesterday and they found the problem. It was a freeze plug on the rear of the motor towards the passenger side. cost me $129 to have the problem diagnosed and fixed. It was hidden behind a motor mount that needed to be loosened so it could be replaced.
