    carb question

Hi guys I'm still looking for answers, this time I need info on carbs. I have a cater 7408S carb on my 232 I-6 '74 mail jeep. Can't find a rebuild kit, so I was wondering what I could replace it with. right now I'm getting about 10 mpg so I really need to do something about that. Jeep runs fine...

    brake rotor conversion

Does anyone know what parts can be used to convert a '74 cj (actually a dj, but I think they are probably the same here) front brakes from drum to disc. I was told that an older ford pickup may work. I'll be keeping it a 2 wheel drive so maybe that will make it a bit easier to find parts. The...

Hey carnuck, you were right again. The pan gasket is a perfect fit but the screen is different. I finally broke down and went to a transmission shop I have done biz with in the past and he had a listing on it and it was in the rv section of his book. At least now I have a rear seal that fits so...

That's exactly what I've got. Saved me some time on ordering the kit. Getting the right one the first time means I don't have to reorder and wait for it to show up. Nobody has the kit for this model transmission in stock. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that info. If I wind up needeing...

It is an inline 6 but the starter is on the right side (postal jeep so it's driver side). It does have what appears to be a ford starter though. The pan gasket looks to be a power glide but I thought it was a three speed auto. I'll do a second take on that and see. I really appreciate the info...

Yea, I knew goin' in that this was gonna be a rare bird. I'll have more questions as time goes on that should be a little closer to norm. Like what ,if any, kits are available for converting my drum brakes to disc. where to find parts for them etc. Thanks for the welcome, Joe

new with a ton of questions

Well, I'm learning fast. Thank God for knowlegeable parts guys. I found out that these beauties mostly come with a TH 400. But, they can also have the old 727 or 904 torque flight in them also. And true to form mine doesn't have any of these. Mine has a powerglide in it. This (I hope) seems to...

new with a ton of questions

I'll probably wear everybody out with question as I learn more about what I'm doing but for now I really need to find out about the automatic transmission that is in my 74 DJ5. I purchased an old mail jeep and it runs and drives great it just has some leaks from some of the seals (out put seal...
