    o2 sensor simulators?

what year jeep is it? is that just the front o2 sensor? what i need is the rear sensor. which registers the efficiency of the cat. i would think if you remove the cat but put the sensor in it would still have "check engine" codes for a faulty cat.

    o2 sensor simulators?

do they exist for the jeep? planning to enlarge the rear exit off the cat to 2.5"...into a 2.5" muffler and tail pipe. but if i don't have to install an o2 bung for the rear sensor, and just use a simulator to keep the PCM happy...i will. any help?? i know they make em for chevies and fords...

    Exhaust Q's

removing the cat from the system WILL increase the power. how much is questionable. highly doubt it would be enough to feel...likely less than 10hp. it WILL make the car sound different, you may end up with more rasp when you get into the upper rpms. i say pull the cat, and put a magnaflow...

    elec. fan upgrade...junk yard option...

yeah i'm down in the keys...marathon. trying to get a bit more power out of the jeep (tow a boat sometimes), and maybe make it a bit more fuel efficient (gf drives it 70 round trip to work). as for the controls/wiring. i'd want it running of a basic thermo switch...no need for anything more...

    elec. fan upgrade...junk yard option...

gotcha... seemed like some of the responses were saying otherwise. ANYWHO... finding a ford to pull isn't so easy...i'm on an island in the middle of the atlantic. i'd have to drive 2-4hrs to the nearest junkyard...and being near miami...i'm sure they're picked over. so for the time and...

    elec. fan upgrade...junk yard option...

so if i remember correctly you guys say the elec fan setup out of the ford taurus was a good swap into the Jeep. what makes THAT setup so good? dimensions? power? shroud design? i have an 89 buick w/ 3.8L v6 that i've been using as a beater...well one of the pistons finally took a crap...

    Corvette power

"4wd.com had an 1994 LS1 engine in a 1989 YJ featured in one of their catalogues" not to nit-pick....but the LSx line of engines didn't exist in production lines untill 1997..when it became available in the corvette. the LSx engines make gobbs of power, and are very reliable. for minimal...

    Corvette power

what engine type and power output are you talking? L98...LT1...LT4...LS1...LS6...LS2?? gonna need a beefy trans to support it. not sure if you can fit a T56 six speed into a jeep or not...but would make for a fun ride

Mod's for getting low end power

anything that allows the engine to breath better will boost power across the board. low restriction intake, and exhaust are the obvious. something like roller rockers to reduce valvetrain friction is also a good way. not to mention reducing parasitic drag, like electric fans. beyond that...

    cooler thermostat

while in theory i think your description of the what the computer does is correct. but i find it VERY hard to believe this could happen by lowering the temps 15 or 25 deg. but thanks for the info

    cooler thermostat

found some random info today while looking through a catalog... quadratec lists 97-04 jeeps as having a 195* stat...which i kindda figured. didn't list anything for earlier...but i'm guessing its similar. and judging from the pictures of the engine (jeep isn't here...so can't pop the hood)...
