    making a CJ5 into a CJ7 question

There is more legroom in a 7 than a 5. The seat can go back further before it hits the wheel well. I'm tall and there was a big difference when I was test driving 5s and 7s.

    Electricians- House wiring

Yes, I understand that if the wires are bigger than the breaker, the circuit could carry more current if the breaker was bigger. But if the standard needs of the circuit are met by the 20 amp breaker, there is no issue. The wires don't determine the load, the appliances do, and this is devoted...

    Electricians- House wiring

Hi guys- I'm selling my place and the buyer's inspector came the other day. In his report he says my wiring is not sized properly for the 20 amp 230V breaker for the A/C circuit. I figured he meant the wires were too small and needed a heavier gauge. (I've never messed with it, worked fine...

    A sign of the times?

So my favorite part supplier has been jeepdoc.com for years. Their prices are usually the best and their service has been top notch. Every time there is a "where is the best place to buy" post, I give their name. I'm not so sure anymore. Something has happened... I ordered a few parts from...

    4.0 Won't start / stay running

Thanks for the replies. The battery and alternator are both about a year old, so they should still be good. The battery has cranked like a fresh one during -15 degree days, so it should have shown weakness then if it was going. The voltage gauge doesn't show anything wrong with the...

    4.0 Won't start / stay running

My DD 00 XJ (4.0/auto/stock) failed to get me to work this morning. Luckily the CJ is pretty dependable. I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction and get it running again quickly because I need it this weekend. It was about 30 degrees and sat outside overnight, so cold, but...

Part Time light wont go off

The light is grounded through the switch. I'd suspect you have a wire shorting out somewhere and finding ground.

    CD Changer Location

This is the unit I have. I'd say its as fast to skip forward through songs as using the ipod itself. From what I understand, how info is displayed on the screen depends on the model/age of your unit. If you have a new pioneer, it should work pretty well. Mine isn't too new and the song title...

    CD Changer Location

CDs? Who uses those anymore? You can get unit for about $30 that hooks an ipod up to your pioneer. It connects through the CD changer plug and shows album/track/etc info on the player screen. I went that route and don't know why I'd want CDs anymore.

    valve cover for inline 6 1979 CJ7

No, newer ones won't fit. I bought an ebay special chrome one once (due to the low price only) and it wouldn't clear the rockers. I ended up buying a used steel one, cleaning it up and painting it.

lost my job, was i wrong?

Sounds like the store has that policy to balance protecting their merchandise with keeping the employees and customers safe. Thats a difficult thing to balance, and I don't think you did anything wrong. However, I guess if word gets out that the store will pepper spray and handcuff people, the...

    00 XJ Passenger Floor Draft

Hey guys, So my wife tells me today that she's got freezing cold air blowing on her feet as we are cruising down the highway. (Its COLD here in N IL.) Its coming from under the dash on the passenger side, and proportional to speed. Its not too strong at 30 mph, but up at 65, its blowing...

    "No Bus"??

Like you said, loose connection on back of cluster. A smack on the dash may fix it for a little while. You'll need to get in there and tighten it up for a real fix.
