    transmission

I just did a NV3550 conversion on my 88 YJ with the 4.2L. Just had to change the bell housing and a new slave cylinder for the clutch. Went in pretty easy. Did you ever pop under and look for the tag to see what kind you have? If you got a 4.0L from a cherokee you might have an AX15 in there...

    35 inch tires? good idea?

35's might rub a bit with 4 inches unless you spaced them out some or did some trimming. Go 33's and not worry about it and you'll have better flex.

grinding noise in clutch and gas pedal

Could be the throw out bearing. Did you notice what condition the clutch and such were in when the trans got replaced? Might be a worn out clutch plate and/or disc as well.

New to all this and need advice

I'd stick with 35's. If you plan on driving it on the road more than off don't get something too aggressive. Nice set of TSL Radials or MT/Rs work great on road and off. I've heard from people that Thornbirds stink, never had any experience with them myself though.

    spare tire mount

Roof it. When I had my XJ used to for my 33" spare, worked great. Got one for the Grand Cherokee also. RockRatz, LLC - Jeep Cherokee Roof-Mounted Tire Carrier (tcr1x, tcr2x)

    suspension help

You should just need a longer set of shocks. Adding a suspension lift to your jeep with an already installed body lift won't change anything. If the body lift is in and works, then everything needed to be extended probably has already been done.

    Lift

37's is not going to work out. They'd be rubbing all over the place.

    transmission

The 88 with a 4.2L had the BA10 and Carter BBD. 2.5L had an AX5 and I think with a throttle body injected carb. You might be able to crawl under and see if there is a tag on the transmission...that should help figure out what one it is.

    transmission

It makes it a BA10 or an AX5. Do you know what the engine the jeep had before the 4L went in it? I would start looking for an old AX15 or the newer NV3550 to put in it. BA10 and AX5 are light duty transmissions.

Whats in there now? AX15 or the AW4? Not sure if you have a 5 speed or automatic.

    TJ Full Doors

Put your socket in the hinge screw and give it a few taps to try and break free anything that might hold it tight. Then give it a twist to see what happens that might help. If its stripped to the point of no meat to bite on, drill it out and replace it.

    2001 TJ Wrangler P0432 and P0740 Help???

That's a torque converter code. Check out your oil in there and such. If its low and getting too hot it can throw a code. More of pain if its the torque converter clutch, might be a shop job unless you are good with automatic transmissions.

    Wabble in my front end.

If it happened after the tires and wheels, I'd say alignment and the stabilizer should do the trick. Did you just install a lift? All the bolts torqued down proper?
