    Engine problems

What all have other mechanics tried to do? A fuel pump will in general give you rough idle and loss of power, but your issues seems like a TPS or speed sensor. Is this an automatic? do you have a core heater? Does cruise control work properly? I know some vacuum leaks can also cause similar...

1997 TJ stalling sputtering and backfiring when warm

It is probably already mentioned, but I had a similar issues with my TPS, IAC, MAFS, CPS, and the VCC would cause stalling when coming to a stop throughout various jeeps. I also had low fuel pressure that would cause wonky idle and finally dying before the pump finally took a crap '98 Ram. With...

    2002 Cherokee radiator issues

I would check the Fan relay switch if that is your concern, both my TJ and XJ take a while to come on. As far as the radiator, I have gone through probably 7 or 8 due to busting at the seems, low coolant, age, or corrosion. If there is a weak part in your cooling system, the pressure will find it!

Fuel injector upgrade for the 4.0, and how to?

For jeeps I wouldn't stray from the Mopar injector's. They are by no means a performance vehicle and you most likely will run into some unwanted issues after service, think of it as getting a lift for a BMW X6. Injectors are not difficult to swap out, I usually will use a Hanes manual or watch a...

    Unknown whump in the XJ

Also, Check the drive shaft, rear diff setup and rims. I had a 98 Ram and a 94 XJ both had bad differential pin yoke;s and got thump/whumps randomly when driving, and always when going up a hill and shifting ( sometimes felt like the rear was bouncing in essence). On the XJ I also had a bent rim...

1998 Jeep TJ accessory power problems

Check all connections in that area behing the stereo and in the column. I had a similar issue that was caused by a wire being slightly pulled out of it position and cause a ton of issue. All i did was use my push in tool and was good to go once the problem wire was found. Your problem does sound...

I change my gear ratio and I have larger tires how do I adjust my speedometer

I took mine to a Dino shop that specialized in everything tuning. They hooker her up to a computer and read the speeds over a periods of an hour and adjusted it accordingly. I think that is the best route for accuracy, but I know many shops just use a chart to program.

2006 Wrangler X TJ Automatic Transmission Shift

I would Flush the transmission if you havent already and make sure and just get the jeep trans fluid. It most like is just due to wear. I had an 01 F-150 that jerked for 80k miles before blowing out, albeit it i was redlining it everychance I could get, something about hearing that big V8 with...

    Need opinions.

I would do the car's color or black....I personally think white will look terrible, like when I walk passed a purple car, with red leather and blue HID lights.

    New guy needs some help

looks like Jerry rigged parking brake/brake cables....I think that is the least of your worries if you haven't had a diff cap on that in a while.

    Help

most times you will have to have or make a custom bracket to enclose that gap with body lifts. I would call some off road shops and custom fab shops and see if they have or will make one for you, that is if Google doesnt help. I have only had 1 body lift, and I vowed to never do it again since...

    Tow rating

Well it is like most vehicles, generally the vehicle can tow more than it is rated ( i towed a 3,000lb pintle trailer with 5 quads and a 3 dirtbikes/motorcycles 450 miles in 3rd gear). Usually when you overload the vehicle you will heavily wear the transmission, you can overheat and/or blow...

    YJ vs TJ

I forgot to mention, If you are replacing the engine, look into the 4BT cummins diesel....A buddy did it to his 93 and it ran like a raped ape

    Grinding sound on turn

Ive have worked on plenty of Hondas, Most of the time it is related to the CV axles being bad, usually where it goes into the transmission housing. I have seen a few that had incorrect brakes install that made a grind. Jack it up, secure it at the lift points and move the wheel side to side and...

    Driving habits

I dont plan on coming to the east coast, I can barely handle the pretentious overly entitles pricks here, I for sure couldn't handle the just because ones  , Plus I HATE traffic, id rack up tickets like there is no tomorrow.

    foglight wiring

Most jeeps have wires running through the firewall into the column or other area. Just trace those wires and zip ties will be your friend. My TJ looks like a gaming computer on the inside with all the lighting and things that have been ran.

    Opinion of this deal

If it seems in good condition, and you can see out of the windows I would go for it. I would also make sure it properly fits and the reasoning they are selling/have it. I would get the price down regardless, just my way of rolling. When I asked my Father in law if i could marry his daughter, he...

    94 Wrangler will not start

I agree with checking the fuses and what not, but I had a similar issue at one point, where my radio would not work and my jeep would not turn over due to the wiring in the steering column and behind the radio were messed up. Basically, some of the prongs pushed their way out during install, and...

    YJ vs TJ

Ive Had a CJ, YJ, and my current TJ. I definitely love the TJ the most, but depending on budget, you may want to opt for the CJ or YJ. The TJ I would say is a way better built machine, it has awesome on road and off road capabilities compare to the others, but it is more expensive to maintain...

    Driving habits

when I lived in Finland and in Indiana during Uni I would always drive 2-3 car lengths apart, stop at all stop signs, let people in, use my turn signal, never honk, and always wave. Now days I always am running on the 680 running 85 in the jeep or 90 in the mustang, I am usually bumper to bumper...
