For everyones sake becareful putting heat to to the ball joint. I have seem them blow the ball stud out when heated and damn near had one go through my leg when it blew out the bottom ball joint. Damn thing burried itself 3 inches in the ground

If there is a scratch in to cylinder wall consult a machine shop. Even a minor looking scratch may cause the engine to have to be bored to the next over size. If you wish to try to hone it yourself use transmission fluid and lots of it. Marvels Mystery Oil will work but is rather expensive...

yep it can be replaced the parts store just has to know if it is a blue or brown grommet on the bottom where the wires enter.

I would like to add a little advice for those with older jeeps. When you get the ball joint press as tight as you can get it with a breaker bar take a hammer and hit the inner c around the ball joint it will help pop the ball joint loose at which point it will almost slide right out.
