    Eldebrock fuel return

Kinda what is being said, do you need the regulator? Here is my brainless way to determine if you need a regulator. run the fuel from the pump directly to the carb, and fire it up. If the carb is flooding out and/or fuel is dripping from the carb booster at idle, you need a regulator, your...

    Lift Questions

Here is my advice based on my experience with CJ5 and lifting. To fit 35's, my prefered lift is 2.5" YJ lift springs. I also prefer to put about 1-1.5" of stretch into the wheel base in each direction. you can do this a number of ways, I like to cut off the frame mounts, move them the desired...

Disregard that, I am an idiot, you have it on the correct side, I had a massive brain fart.

    Eldebrock fuel return

There should not be a return line. That looks like a 1406 electric choke carb. The small ports on the front are vacuum ports (EGR and distributor.) Also looking at the picture, generally the distributor vacuum line goes to the timed (pass side of carburetor) port. This is mandatory on emission...

T18 Transmission jumps out of 4th gear

Sounds like 2-3 syncro. The T18 is technically a 3 speed trans, so what was ID as 4th is really 3rd, low gear is not considered a driving gear.

    New belly up skid plate

regarding welding, an employee at a muffler shop will generally weld something for you if you dangle $10 in front of them.

    New belly up skid plate

Terry, Good choice on that skid plate. I think I mentioned it in the other thread where I recommended this skid, if not here is my suggestion. I prefer to NOT mount the trans to the skid plate. I usually use two bushings (always use type that is the same as motor mount bushings) and I build a...

    94 Jeep YJ with a AMC 360 from a 79 J10 HELP PLZ....

I find it easier to leave an much of the engine compartment wiring as possible to power the starter, ECM, alternator etc.. At the ecm you will want to remove the pins that have no control over teh carbed motor, o2 sensors, MAF, CPS, etc. You ignition control module might be bad, it should be a...

    rotors, calipers and whatever else...

flatie, YJ's and newer run composite rotors, they can not be turned. If they are not scored too bad, I will hit them with a 3M pad to give them a little tooth, but they are pretty much a one time use. A lot of new car manufacturers require new rotors with every pad change now.

    94 Jeep YJ with a AMC 360 from a 79 J10 HELP PLZ....

You should use a lot of the wiring from the 94 to power a non-efi motor. you will end up deleting a lot of wires when you pin out the harness for things like emissions, o2 sensors, etc.. Sounds like the previous owner hacked the harness, it might be worth while to go to the junkyard and pull a...

Opinions on this long arm kit - Under Cover Fab Long Arm Upgrade

One thing that UCF addresses is the main issues with RC links and the flimsy frame mounts, the the RC x-flex joints are absolute junk. The Johnny Joints are light years better, and at about $100 retail per joint, what UCF is asking for the kit is fairly reasonable. Retail: The RC arms are...

    Stinger?

Rolled a bunch of times, I will take a side roll over a front over rear flop anyday. That said, I think stingers are stupid. if your in a situation such as the picture above, your wheeling skills need a major reality check, skinny pedal on the right to drive out of it. Regarding roll over...

Opinions on this long arm kit - Under Cover Fab Long Arm Upgrade

Word to the wise, you get what you pay for. I've installed a lot of suspension kits, regarding a TJ and based solely on my experience installing, and repairing... DON'T BUY Rough country, Trail master, rancho, sky jacker, super lift, Pro comp, Rusty's. I find these are poor examples of lift...

    rotors, calipers and whatever else...

^that^ Once the caliper is off, the rotor just comes off. it might be seated (rusted) to the unit bearing, a couple wacks of a mallet or mini sledge and they will pop right off. Unless you have a reason to replace the caliper, I wouldn't bother.

    rotors, calipers and whatever else...

Other than removing the tires, the only tool you need to change pads and rotors on a D30 is a, I think, 3/8 allen head wrench. With mechanics charging $100+ per hour for labor and another 15% increase on the cost of parts.. I think your savings would be significant. Rotors are about $30 per...

Why roll up when you can roll down?

Thats why you simply roll it up, take only second. Honestly, I got over 10 years out of my first bestop top and I beat the **** out of it, rubbing against trees off road, folding down and loading crap on top. The bestop's longevity is far better than the stock YJ top. it has it's quirkyness...

Why roll up when you can roll down?

Bestop replacement tops and factory YJ tops will not allow for a simple roll down like on a TJ. If you were to roll it down, you would have to remove the tailgate bar, remove the two side zippers, then remove the top zipper that goes from one side to another then re-attach the tail gate bar...
