    HELP - Pioneer DEH2100IB VS Sony CDX-GT930UI

I went through 3 Pioneer headunits before I swapped to Sony's. The Pioneers didn't seem to like dust or any moisture at all. Every Sony I've had has also had easier controls for my subwoofers, not as much fine tune capabilities but much easier to change on the fly or driving down the road...

    Shocks hitting back axle

Degree shims are meant to be a band-aid fix for the pinion angle. Using them to relocate your shocks could give you some serious vibrations if you don't check the pinion angle first.

Found my HX30 last weekend. Once I swap the rear axle I'm turning back to turboing it. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahpsssssssssh!

Gf snapped the 35 at a stop sign. 8.8 here I come!!!

    Pinion Angle question

The shims would just be temporary until I can get the 8.8. I'd weld the perches on it at the right pinion angle on the install. I've read a few build threads where they talked about reusing their cv style shaft from the 35 to the 8.8 but I haven't found any good pictures of the axles side by...

    Pinion Angle question

If I can I'll snap a picture. I was wheeling it pretty hard and on the way home noticed a small bump on takeoffs. I think I might have cracked the shims or something allowing the axle to twist just a little and create more damage. Hard to tell without tearing it apart. I'll look for the procomp...

    Pinion Angle question

After some more research it seems RE is the only maker of degree shims? the one supplied with my kit originally were aluminum but the ones I've read about are all steel and don't have the problem mine do. I'll have to crawl under with the angle finder to figure out which one I need but it seems...

    Pinion Angle question

My jeep is undergoing a new wave of mods before I have to call it quits for a while once the baby comes. I've run it with the stock driveshaft on 4.5 inches of suspension lift for 3 years and it doesn't ride horrible but it's been getting worse and worse. Crawled under to take a peek and the...

The 2006 model comes with drum brakes in the rear? I thought somewhere in the tj-age they started putting discs all the way around:scratch:

    drive train problem

What kind of jeep do you have? With absolutely no information on type of jeep or mods it sounds like when it dropped it might have pulled the driveshaft far enough out of the transfer case to spill some fluid. Pull the driveshaft and check the splines and rear output on the transfer case. If...

    Rear track bar on YJ

Remove the rear trackbar and throw it away. The front I recommend taking off one thing at a time and seeing how you like the ride. In my front I ditched the swaybar because with 5.5 inches of lift it places the cog too high and if felt like it was gonna lift a tire and flip around every turn...

At the rear of your transfer case. Should be sticking off on the driver side with wires heading up to the front

    Weird Scary Bouncing!!!!

A jk with death wobble? Haven't heard of one yet, but the shaking until stopping is one of the symptoms of death wobble. Search for death wobble in tj's and see if it's similar to what you experience. The cure for it should be the same too.

What's the right size D or U shackle?

Get the ones that you can unscrew the backside and take them off. You'll thank yourself for it. I got a set of permanent d-rings for free so I welded them to the bumper and on top of being very very noisy they are a little inconvenient to use waste deep in mud. You have to loop the strap on...

    Rubi lockers

They're electric lockers so I'd assume you can run a switch for each locker individually if you felt like it.

Howdy from the hills of Kentucky

I checked and Harlan is somewhere in the middle of us but we'd have to find a guide. Might be a while before I take on a trip that far away since I'm doing a whole new wave of mods right now and that taxes my poor college income, but Windrock is in my backyard I'll take you out there any time.
