Did you use the baby fresh scent petrolium jelly to hold the needle bearings in? That's what I primed my oil pump with. Lol

    An oldtimey newbie.

Welcome to Jeepz, yea your no stranger to Jeeps. I gotta say I love the old scouts especially the 800 series. If I hadn't bought a Jeep that's the route I'd have took. I've got a '92 Ultra Classic, I love Jeeps and all but it would be hard for me to sell my bike for a Jeep. They make bikes...

    Identifying chrome?

I wouldn't polish the chrome unless it has gotten in rough shape. The polish has abrasive in it. It will wear your chrome over time and make it dull. Wash it then a good paste wax will clean and protect it.

    75 cj5

Well when you hang out with other Jeepers you can actually join in the conversation about things that you have actually experianced. I think owning ( driving, building, hunting parts) an old CJ is an experiance in itself. It'd be alot easier to walk down to the dealer an buy a new Rubicon and...

    75 cj5

Glad to see your making lots of progress and it's all comming together nicely. Old CJ's usually are more work than the newer Jeeps. You will often see when people post a thread about what Jeep should I buy, a CJ is often discouraged for this reason. You have taken on a great challenge with this...

    76 CJ5 project.....could use some advice.

I agree with Greg, have the block checked first. That will dictate your next move. If the block has a crack and it were me, I'd just look for anthor engine. I do like the fact that you would jump in with both feet and rebuild it yourself, nobody does that anymore. I hope the block is good and...

Photos of the 2015 Jeep Jeepster

Man, couldn't they have named it something else? The cheapster seems to fit. Most of the time when they use the name of a retro vehicle it in some way looks like the one they stole the name from.

Man it all looks great. I'm thinking your son will change his mind when he sees this thing comming together. You have great attention to detail on this project it will pay off big in the end. I hate that your surgery has held you up, I'm sure you were chompin at the bit to work on this. Keep us...

Man, hat's off to you and the Autozone crew! I've been in some tight spots and it's nice to see someone that will help you when it's really a crappy situation. It's hard to thank them enough. Enjoy the jar, never tried it warm...I always thought it was warm enough. Lol Reckon people with...

Craigslist ad: Trade my Jeep for your wife

You know that's low miles, wonder how good the tires are? I couldn't deal with a 6inch body lift though, that'd have to go.

    Man it's cold!

It was 1 degree yesterday morn. I had bought de-icer but left it in the front seat of my Jeep...yep I couldn't get to it when the door was froze shut. The driverside lock out was even froze. It was a heat wave today, got up to 38.

Can you consider a Jeep as a small truck

I consider my '82 CJ8 a small truck. The CJ5 an SUV with heavy emphasis on the utility. I've been to Lowes many times hauling everything from 2x4's to bags of concrete.
