T 18 swap for the T150 in 'Black Betty'

I love the T-18. Had one in my 74 CJ-5 and it also had the 6:32 1st gear. Awesome transmission..

    Taurus 2 Speed Fan Help

Good Idea on the override switch. One thing I should do is to install a main switch to turn it off for deep water crossings.

    Taurus 2 Speed Fan Help

Ok, I know this is one of my old posts, but JPNinPA wanted me to post an update on this fan swap. It's been a few years and the fan has worked flawlessly. Temps have been around the high 90's with a few days hovering around 100dgr. With the a/c going full force there has been no issues with...

    1999 grand cherokee computer reset

Basically just disconnect the negative battery cable over night. This will give the computer a form of amnesia and clear all but the hard codes. Its actually draining the capacitors in the computer.

    2010 Cherokee Laredo

The howling noise is usually the sign of a bad bearing. To answer your question about the fuel pump, its in the fuel tank. Usually one of the first thing that goes bad is the idler pulley and or alternator bearings. You can remove the serpentine belt to see if the noise goes away. But please do...

    dana 41 rear axle

The Dana 41 was the beginning of the Dana 44. The 41 has a ring gear of 7.75 and was used from 1945-1949 in the CJ 2A and 3A. The Dana 44 has a ring gear that measures 8.5. Now I am not sure if the 44's axles would interchange, but on thing for sure is you would need to change carriers as you...

    WJ axle in a TJ

The WJ axle is wider as are the all of the mounts. Swap the knuckles and brakes over to your D30 axle. You will need to replace the ball joints as the WJ upper ball joints are different than the TJ, but the lowers are the same. Also you will need to buy a pair 1/4" thick unit bearing spacers...

Runs fine for 3 minutes, bad for 3 minutes, then fine. Like clockork....

That bad head design found its way to my WJ. They crack between number 3 and 4. When this happens you will start to loose coolant.

    1988 Wrangler stalling--FRUSTRATED!!!!

With some coils, whenever they cool down they'll work again until they get hot. It's worth a try.

    Rusty floor boards

First question is. Is it rusted all the way through, or is just on the surface? If its not all the way through you can remove the rust down to clean metal and use a product like POR-15 to seal it.

    1988 Wrangler stalling--FRUSTRATED!!!!

Ignition coils can stop working when the engine gets hot and be fine when cold, or just give up the ghost at anytime without warning.

    1988 Wrangler stalling--FRUSTRATED!!!!

Check the ignition switch first. What about the ignition coil, has that been replaced..???

What goes here on the a/c?

The holes are for the duct tubes. One goes to the defrost vent and the other is for the floor vents. I had bought some for my 75 CJ at 4wd Hardware.. You may have to use newer model year tubes and alter them to work.

With gauges going out like that, did you check all of the grounds and the fuel pump relay. Check the obvious stuff first unless you have already done that.

    Death wobble

There will be some twisting movement, but it should be snug, there should be resistance. Unlock the steering wheel and have someone move the steering wheel back and forth. Have them do it slightly and slow and watch all of the steering linkage. Listen for popping sounds, watch for any delay in...
