    Four barrels rock!!

Shoot, I wish I knew that before I got the motorcraft. I was looking at the Holley truck avenger when I was shopping for carbs. But all the info I was getting said it was to large, I believe it was a 450. Oh well, live and learn.

    Four barrels rock!!

It was a Holley 2150. Came off a 74 scout with a 304. It was pretty hard to find a rebuild kit, not even Holley had it. They told me about daytona carb. parts and they had it. Rebuilt the carb. And it ran great, just would not run on off camber situations. Every steep hill I had to climb to get...

    Four barrels rock!!

My Holley ran great on the street but not Offroad. That's why I went with the motorcraft, and it works great for what I use my jeep for, hunting and fishing where lesser vehicles cant go. Glad your jeeps back up to speed.

    Louder exhaust

There's a couple of things you can do depending on how loud you want to go. A cat back exhaust will give a nice throaty sound, or you could go with a full system with headers hi flow muffler and bigger pipes and really make some noise.

    4" leaf spring lift on 79' cj5

I'd use the shims on the rear. Some folks don't like to use them but i haven't had any problems with mine. The angle of the driveshaft will be too steep without it, especially on a cj 5. Another option would be to replace the spring perches and clock your rear axle but you'll have to cut off the...

high rpm on 1997 cherokee sport

Check that your intake and exhaust manifold bolts are torqued. They have a tendency to come loose and cause a high idle.

    Alternator question!

Glad it's working. Did you get a chance to check it with a volt meter to see what it's putting out?

    NP231 shift pattern

Right, I was just saying what I felt was the best way to do it. To each his own. Happy towing.

    NP231 shift pattern

I also read not to put the transmission in park while the transfer case is in neutral and the engine is running to avoid trans damage. I was going to put hubs on the rear axle of my cj. And I remember reading about it being the best option for flat towing also as none of your drivetrain...

    NP231 shift pattern

It's my understanding that the best way to flat tow a jeep is to have locking hubs on all four wheels. That can be pretty expensive. Next option would be to remove the driveshafts.

    Dana 44 axle truss

Thanks, but those are more for building a link type suspension. I'm looking for one that will span the length of the axle. I'm using leaf springs in a spring under configuration. Thanks again. 808

    Dana 44 axle truss

Hey forum. Any one know where I can find an axle truss for a Dana 44 from a cj. The only ones I can find seem to be for later models with coil springs. Thanks

    ratio calculation

I know what you mean. I use my IPhone as a speedometer. The one on my jeep is way off. I would say around 2500 rpm is safe. Too bad about the warn overdrive, I hear there very hard to find.

    Fiberglass front clip

I hear yah. I think i can figure out a way so that it's solid when I have it closed. Think I'll go flip front. Another thing is with a flip front clip, I'll be more motivated to drop in that 350 I have in the shop. You can't have a plain old 258 sitting behind a Fiberglas front clip! Ha ha ha
