Are you talking a factory roof rack? I've got a factory rack that is off a 95 I believe, you just need some bolts and it will install right up. I'm not too far from you, in Joliet, Illinois.

check craigslist for something from the 80s and early 90s vws, bmws, or anything like that.

i got a thule roof rack from a dude who sold his bmw for 15 bucks. bolted right on the gutters on the cherokee
