Why reverse leaf springs???

I have been looking around other web sites and often see jeeps with leaf spring reversals on them.So what is the deal with that???Better articulation???Smoother ride???I just cant figure it out. Sully[addsig]

In a nut shell with the shackels in the fron when your suspension flexes it pushes your axel forward a bit forcing it into what ever you are hitting (ie pothole or rock) With the reversal it allows your axel to move away from the bump making your ride somewhat softer. Some of the other guys might have a different take on this, but I think that it pretty well sums it up :-) [addsig]

it will make the ride softer... though, will absorb the momentum and reduce traction[addsig]

Unloads the front tires on an obstacle, reducing traction.

Tough to do correctly, requires drilling and sleeving the frame for the shackle. The bolt-on kits are wrong.[addsig]
