I've go a 93 YJ 4Cyl. with 31.5" tires, fuel injected, higher miles but runs really good. I've replace the injectors and pulled the restrictor out of the filter. When i'm on the highway, going up a very shallow gradient, I'll loose 12-18 MPH. Once another Jeep blew right buy me (maybe he had a 6). Is there anyway to fix this? How can I see what type of gears I have? Any chips or air intake gaggets?

thanks [addsig]

The 4 cyl's came stock with 4:10. The larger tires are whats keeping your speed down on the hills. Swap out the 4:10's for 4:56's and you should get some of that speed/power back. The stock tire size I stink was like 27" maybe 29" fine for the 4:10's (there are others here that will know the tire size for sure)

Here's an intake thingy...

Just make one like this, cost me 50 bucks, 45 of it was for the filter... Gears is your best bet though.[addsig]

It's a 4Banger thing, get used to it. Unless you regear the axles (expensive), it will be tough to get performance back from adding larger tires. Engine performance mods help:
  • 4.0L Throttle Body
  • 4.0L Throttle Body spacer
  • Airtube and conical K&N filter
  • Cat-back performance exhaust
  • Electric fan in place of mehanical fan
  • Perfromance hi-output coil
  • Quality plug wires and Champion Truck plugs gapped at .050"

This is just for starters. There is a lot of engine work that can be done, I'll be installing my Mopar Performance camshaft soon, we'll see how that helps the little engine that could  [addsig]

Or you could just buy a new jeep and forget the rest.... :-D :-D [addsig]
