cherokee overflow tank leak

I have a pair of wrangler RT/5 Goodyear p235/75R15's on the front of my 1989 laredo. Are these tires too large to be safely used on this vehicle? I'm looking to get 2 for the rear, but I'm worried that they may affect the handling. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks for your help.

got rice!

Hi,

I believe P235/75/R15 are the largest you can use on a stock Cherokee.

I've been running 235s on my 90 XJ Laredo for 10 years now. No problem.

I recieved my cherokee used with 235's on it worked fine no problems. In fact I left them on when I lifted it. Since they are skinnier than 31's they worked great in snow.

do your rear leaf's sag at all? i just put 235 MT/R's on mine and i guess i have a sag problem because with a few people in the car the jeep bottoms out on any decent sized bump or dip.

oringinal canvas cj doors for sale

My rear leafs did not sag untill I lifted the rear with a skyjacker add a leaf kit. They worked fine untill I lifted it. I should have just replaced the entire leafs. It is quite common for the leafs to start sagging. I really depends on how you use your jeep. I am not saying your passengers are fat but people are quite heavy which can contribute to the bottoming out. If it looks like the back is lower when it sitting empty or bottoms out empty then your springs may be getting soft. If your considering a lift just opt for the complete leaf springs. If not try ebay to find some replacement stock leafs or even post a message hear. I sure somebody has opted for complete leafs and has some stock ones hanging on their garage wall.
